Why would a power generator be necessary? Who needs a generator? When will a generator be used? Some people think generators are just for emergencies, like when the power goes out for hours, days, or even weeks on end. But that’s not all generators are good for. People also use generators in shops, garages, and barns in order to have electricity in those areas Generators literally generate power and convert that power into electricity. That electricity can be used for anything from lights to power tools to heaters to stoves. That’s why they’re so handy in a home in case of an emergency, as well as in hospitals, schools, and the like. Though they require gas or propane to run, so they are not always the cheapest choice. Especially as the price of gas continues to rise.

If you have the need for a power generator, you should take careful stock of what you need it for, how often you need it, and where you will use it. Would it do any good for you to have an automatic generator—one that will automatically kick into gear and take on the electrical load? Do you need a small one just in case there’s an emergency that leads to power outage? Do you need a large one to cover a large area? Depending on the answers to those questions, and others, you might want to get the cheaper, lighter, propane generator. But either gas or power generators will work as power generators.
